Job Information and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Associate Vice-President, Enrolment & University Registrar, the Director, Student Recruitment and Enrolment will:
- Ensures the successful execution of the student recruitment campaign that promotes Saint Mary's University's academic programs and services to prospective students through presentations, seminars, in-person and online visits and communications, to groups of students, counsellors, parents, partners, etc.
- Provides guidance and ensures plans to represent Saint Mary's in visits and career fairs to selected schools and at public functions in Canada and abroad, are successfully conducted ensuring that prospective students, parents, teachers and counselors and others are provided with accurate, timely information about study in Canada and the features and benefits of attending Saint Mary's.
- Primary contact in the maintenance of educational/agent contracts and ensures that the coordination, collection and payment of commissions are completed correctly in a timely manner in accordance with current contracts.
- Develops, directs, supervises, reviews and supports direct reports and provides guidance for the supervision of all unit team members.
- Responsible for allocating and monitoring departmental budgets ensuring that they fall within approved amounts and follow institutional guidelines.
- With a data informed approach, works closely with the AVP Enrolment & University Registrar and provides direction on determining high schools and regions/provinces/countries to visit, approves recruitment team schedules, and using market research recommends potential (new) cities, provinces, regions, countries, partnerships and educational institutions for recruitment outreach.
- In collaboration with cross-campus stakeholders, provides direction in the development and process of annual recruitment presentations, seminars, visits and provides workshops to recruitment team and campus partners to ensure everyone is comfortable with delivering key messages, deliverables and expectations.
- Ensures CRM and other platforms are being utilized effectively including providing input on development and training for recruitment team members.
Experience and Education Requirements
To be the successful Director, Student Recruitment and Enrolment you will have:
- A Graduate Degree
- Minimum 10-12 years of related and relevant experience in a post-secondary institution
- Demonstrated previous supervisory and management experience
- Experience and expertise in working internationally
- Experience and expertise in market research and development
- Familiarity with related organizations such as Council of International Schools, International ACAC, IBO, College Board, etc.
- Superior oral and written communication skills in English; knowledge of other languages would be an asset.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of prospective students/families, institutional partners, and admissions professionals.
- Exceptional organizational, problem solving, critical thinking and team building skills.
- Strong computer and technology skills, and familiarity with and of current social media/communications platforms.
- Passion for working with diverse groups in a cross-cultural environment.
- Strong organizational and team building skills with ability to motivate and involve individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to travel occasionally both domestically and/or internationally for limited periods of time of up to 7-10 days as required.
- Willingness and ability to work weekends and irregular hours.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, valid passport and up to date vaccination record.
- Light and medium exertion (e.g. lifting and carrying boxes, suitcases, materials, etc.).
