The New Brunswick Institute for Research, Data and Training (NB-IRDT) is located at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton campus. NB-IRDT's mandate is to support objective evidence-based policy formation and development through the application of statistical techniques to large administrative databases collected by the Department of Health and other provincial departments and agencies.

Salary Range: $57381 - $74,600 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Director of NBIRDT, the Data Services Manager is responsible for or developing and executing the strategy and operations of NB-IRDT Data Services Unit with a focus on data transfer to NB-IRDT, users access to data and release of data results and the coordination or data services project deliverable to provincial, inter-provincial and national network partners.

  • Supervise the data platform development and data access application team.
  • Provide the leadership for the development and implementation of all data services project coordination.
  • Lead staff in planning and completion of data services projects.
  • Identify challenges impeding advancement and completion of projects.
  • Initiate policy, procedure, and assessment revisions and changes to meet changing needs.
  • Lead projects involving government department partnerships for the strategic growth of the data platform and data access request services.
  • Plan, Budget, and Report for data services.
  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive assessment and benchmarking annual plan for NB-IRDT Data Services.
  • Identify trends and metrics, and optimize budget spending for NB-IRDT.
  • Assist the NB-IRDT Director in the development of annual work plans and budgets.
  • Lead quarterly and annual reporting, measuring key performance indicators and addressing budget targets.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners as required to develop, support, and review NB-IRDT strategic goals.
  • Oversee the implementation of best practices and procedures for processes to meet NB-IRDT strategic goals.
  • Provide daily management of personnel and data services processes within NB-IRDT.
  • Conduct quarterly and annual performance reviews for 4-5 coordinators.
  • Create performance action plans that include training and development.
  • Work closely with the data services team to identify and lead strategic problem solving and solution-oriented service delivery to meet data access users' and data partner needs.
  • Ensure that communication systems are maintained between NB-IRDT data services and NB-IRDT internal units and external provincial and national network partners.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A University Degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Data Research Centre, Data Services, Process Development or Service Delivery environment, or a related field.
