COLLEGE OF EXTENDED LEARNING

The College of Extended Learning (CEL) is the primary lifelong learning outreach vehicle for the University and carries critical community-building and revenue-generation functions. CEL is an educational entrepreneurial unit of UNB that contributes to the economic, social, and cultural life of the province by providing educational programs and services to a wide spectrum of learners within New Brunswick and beyond its borders. Four programming units and three core services units comprise CEL.

Salary Range: $22.68 - $26.33 per hour

YOUR FOCUS

The Sales & Retention unit is responsible for the sale, marketing, delivery and registration of all professional development courses and programs offered through CEL. Reporting to Manager of Business Development, Sales & Retention, the Customer Success Specialist is responsible for the administrative support and registration of online courses and programs delivered through the unit, including phone and e-mail communications with students enrolled in these programs. The position interacts with several units within CEL and other departments on campus, as required.

  • Answer emails and phone calls from students.
  • Responsible for recruitment and retention of students within the Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (COHD) program.
  • Answer emails for sales requests and retention such as: extensions, program information, PLA information, and expired courses.
  • Conduct campaign phone calls and emails for any promotions that are being offered.
  • Monitor CRM and reach out to students if have abandoned carts, sales request a week ago without registration, extensions, expired courses.
  • Review graduate list for certificates and diplomas.
  • Guide students through the Prior Learning Assessment for COHS program.
  • Process course payments.
  • Ensure that invoices were being paid for all students prior to registering them into their fourth course in the program.
  • Interact with Client Services team to ensure invoices for programs and courses are being processed.
  • Ensure all new registrations receive an introductory email.
  • Ensure students are set up and are able to register for diploma acceptance.
  • Send out documents to students: invoice letters, transcripts, acceptance letters, progress reports, completion letters, and statement of accounts.
  • Reset quizzes online at the instructor's request.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Post-secondary education.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience, ideally in an academic setting.

Additional Strengths

  • Additional technical training in computerized business systems or equivalent experience would be an asset.
  • Experience with D2L, Datatel, Footprints and other computer-based systems/applications an asset.
  • Experience working successfully in a client service or student support role.
