The Opportunity:

Port Saint John is part of the critical transportation infrastructure of Canada and a cornerstone of the New Brunswick economy. Currently seeking a qualified individual for the seasonal position of Cruise Terminal Manager.

Reporting to the Harbour Master, the Cruise Terminal Manager is the lead onsite person during the 2024 cruise season, per cruise terminal, for each cruise ship call and will complete the following tasks and duties in a professional and confidential manner.

Responsibilities

Your Focus:

  • Ensure safe, secure, and efficient operation of cruise terminals, ground transportation areas, and crew lounge for cruise ship days.
  • Complete pre arrival, during ship interface, and post departure check lists for each cruise ship interface.
  • Overall day-of management of cruise facility security team and ensuring overall security posture of marine facility.
  • Oversight of contracted shore excursion operations within port facilities.
  • Send pre-arrival communication to various external and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment for expectations and operational excellence.
  • Confirm arrival and departure times with pilots, agents and other applicable operational stakeholders.
  • Ensure facilities are kept sufficiently cleaned by the facility cleaning supplier and/or facilities team, to ensure a positive passenger experience and delegate operations to resolve any issues.
  • Consult and communicate with the cruise lines, agents, welcome crew, and operations staff any relevant information throughout cruise ship day.
  • Deal with any issues as needed.

What you'll need

Qualifications

You Have:

  • Eligibility for Transport Canada RA2 security clearance.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Eligibility to become Marine Facility Security Officer Certified
  • 5+ years of experience in operations management
  • Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills

  • Available for variable work hours which may include weekdays, weekends, overnights or holidays.
