COUNSELLING SERVICES: HEALTH & WELLNESS
Counselling Services provides a wide range of mental health supports, including direct clinical services and prevention-focused outreach and education to support all students' academic and personal development.
WHAT WE OFFER
Full-time | Term Ending April 30, 2025 | Fredericton | On-Campus
Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:00 am - 4:00 pm | 36.25 hours per week
Salary Range: $60,620 - $78,808 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Director of Counselling Services, the Counsellor provides clinical services and develops outreach programs, workshops and training to support the mental health and well-being of students.
- Provide direct clinical brief individual therapy, group counselling, and crisis intervention to students presenting with a wide range of problems, including depression, anxiety, adjustment and developmental issues, academic-related issues, substance use, trauma and relationship difficulties.
- Participate in developing and delivering mental health outreach programs, workshops, and training for students.
- Supervise graduate students in individual and group counselling.
- Maintain confidential counselling records.
- Provide consultation services to student groups, faculty and staff within the university.
WHAT YOU BRING
- A Master's Degree in Counselling, Psychology (Counselling or Clinical), or Social Work.
- Registered in good standing with the respective professional body.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience.
Additional Strengths
- Experience in a post-secondary setting is considered a strong asset.
- Experience with outreach, therapy groups, and psychoeducational interventions.
- Experience providing culturally sensitive counselling to diverse populations.
- Ability to work with a broad range of clinical and developmental concerns.
- Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
