Reporting to the Vice-President Finance, and overseeing a small finance team, the Corporate Controller will be responsible for full cycle financial accounting, financial reporting and analysis, overseeing project funding disbursement processes, banking, internal controls, and supporting budgeting and cash management. We are looking for someone who can add value to the organization with their exceptional analytical capabilities, creative problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous improvement. 

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all day-to-day accounting functions, being responsible for full-cycle accounting and operations of receivables, payables, payroll and G/L maintenance;
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements (monthly, quarterly, year end) and prepare variance analysis against budget;
  • Oversee the project funding disbursement process, approve project claims, manage claims processing and prepare disbursement reporting;
  • Develop a deep understanding of OSC eligible cost guidelines and ISI funding guidelines, and support claim reviewers in providing clarification and interpretation when needed;
  • Continually work to enhance claims review process, procedures, templates, and the overall service experience for claimants;
  • Oversee and support finance staff;
  • Manage and monitor short term cash flow needs, including payment approvals, membership billing approvals and monitoring receivable collection;
  • Ensure accounts payable function is compliant with OSC procurement and employee expense policies, and controls around procurement are operating effectively;
  • Responsible for accurate payroll processing and management;
  • Responsible for all required reporting for funding providers;
  • Support the annual budgeting process and the preparation of regular cash flow forecasting;
  • Manage annual audit and liaise with auditors;
  • Provide support and ad-hoc reporting for OSC staff;
  • Assist Vice-President Finance with ad-hoc finance related projects and policies

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • 3-4 years of financial management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • CPA accounting designation
  • Comfortable working and collaborating both virtually and remotely with others
  • Experience managing and supervising staff
  • Thrives in a fast-paced and a sometimes ambiguous environment, with ability to meet tight deadlines when required
