NBCC is currently seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the position of Corporate Communications Coordinator.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement, the Corporate Communications Coordinator provides communications advice on issues management to support the needs of NBCC’s leadership team, college departments and faculty. The Coordinator is the media contact for the College and implements a proactive media strategy.

The Coordinator’s key responsibilities include assisting with the development and implementation of College-wide strategic communications planning; creating communications strategies and formulating appropriate messaging for sensitive and confidential materials to be communicated to internal and external audiences; managing media relations to obtain and shape news coverage of the College; updating NBCC’s Crisis Communication Plan, as part of our Emergency Action Plan; managing crisis communications preparedness for the College; and assisting with the development of various Corporate reporting requirements as needed.

Qualifications

Required qualifications for this opportunity include a two-year College Diploma in a Communications, Public Relations or Journalism related field, with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience; or a University Degree in a Communications, Public Relations or Journalism related field, with a minimum of three (3) years of related experience. Related experience must be progressive and include leadership and management of projects and/or communication strategies and experience working with the media including as a spokesperson. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

The successful candidate will demonstrate relationship building, communication and presentation skills, as well as strong initiative, results orientation, and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with a focus on achieving excellence.

Preference may be given to candidates who have demonstrated experience in both external and internal communications coordination.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $43,654 to $60,996.
