Job Information and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Administrative Services Manager, the Corporate & Group Training Coordinator will:

  • Develop short-term customized English Language programs for revenue and partnership development for The Language Centre, Saint Mary's University. This includes design, planning, organizing, and implementing of all short-term programs, overseeing programs through to completion, and post-program review.
  • Prepare the budget, write the proposal, and negotiate the contract with clients, event/activity/class organization, and all logistics for participants from arrival in Halifax to departure, and reconciling of expenses.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the logistics of new student welcome orientations throughout the year and oversee and administer the placement of afternoon electives in the Intensive English program as well as the student program evaluations.·

Experience and Education Requirements

To be the successful Corporate & Group Training Coordinator you will have:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Minimum 2 years' directly related experience
  • Comfortable in cross cultural situations
  • Excellent communication, oral and written and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated skill in using common office, desktop publishing and communication software (e.g. Word,
  • Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Net web tools)
