Responsibilities

Microcredentials are short courses which provide for continuous learning in the areas of skill development, career growth and personal interest. MSVU is working on a pilot program to offer microcredential courses beginning this Fall.

Responsibilities

MSVU is seeking a Coordinator, Microcredentials. Reporting to the Director, Teaching and Learning, this 12-month contract role (with the possibility of an extension) will support the university as it seeks to introduce a Microcredentialing Pilot Program. This role will provide support to the Director of Teaching and Learning in the development of the strategic direction, coordination, and support of the implementation of the pilot program to begin in the early fall of 2023.

The Coordinator, Microcredentials will be tasked with the development of objectives for the program, liaise with constituents both internally and externally as well as develop partnerships within the community. The Coordinator Microcredentials will be responsible to develop the framework of the pilot program, track information and trends to determine programmatic goals and evaluate the effectiveness of this pilot program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • establishing the framework for this new program of educational opportunities;
  • research best practices and make recommendations and/or improvements to processes to ensure a student-centric experience for new students to the programs;
  • provide programmatic information to prospective new students inquiring on the program offerings;
  • helping to create and maintain the daily operations of the micro-credential program;
  • proven project management and organizational skills;
  • proven analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • assisting and taking feedback from Instructors as we build this new program;
  • managing communications with micro-credential student applicants as they seek information and register for courses;
  • proven ability to work effectively in a multi-tasked environment under pressure with high volumes of work;
  • effective interpersonal skills;
  • promoting the program to the broader university community and beyond;
  • overseeing the development of new courses, and ensuring idea generation is happening to grow the program, in line with MSVU's vision for the future;
  • recruiting and supporting course instructors;
  • relationship building;
  • working closely with the University's Marketing team on program promotion, and
  • financial oversight of the department, course registrations, and course fees.

What you'll need

Qualifications

As the ideal candidate, you have an undergraduate degree and at least five (5) years of experience in project management. Preferably, you have experience in developing, promoting or delivering educational programs. You are well-versed in program promotion, customer service, and financial management. You have a proven ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and expertise in working with agency partners to achieve results. You have superior interpersonal, time management, and communications skills and are a self-starter who does not require high levels of supervision. You also have experience in managing projects and supervising others.

Classification: Full-Time, 1-Year Contract Position
Salary: $61,724 per annum
