Configuration Management Specialist

Based at Kraken Robotics Newfoundland or Nova Scotia Canada location. Full-Time - Permanent | Job Reference: KRSI-2024-33

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Kraken is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist to join our Team. As a Configuration Management (CM) Specialist with Kraken Robotics you will play a key role in the support, definition, and maintenance of Kraken's product portfolio. The CM Specialist will be responsible for managing the baseline of Kraken's products, maintaining records of their variation within projects, and management of interactions between different disciplines and departments in support of product delivery. This individual will need to understand the "big picture" of how Kraken operates to properly support the definition of change related risks and should have a passion for the development of processes.

The Successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills, a passion for continual improvement, and an interest in understanding how business processes interact with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain Management. This role can be based in Kraken's office in Mount Pearl, NL or Dartmouth, NS and will require regular travel to support operations in Kraken's entities outside of Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain baseline documentation related to Kraken products, track changes, and drive transparency of change requirements;
  • Coordinate and chair weekly meetings related to Product Configuration and management of change related risk;
  • Maintain Engineering Change Records, progress reporting on related actions, change effectivity logs, and develop documentation packages for issue to production;
  • Maintain and encourage communications between Engineering, Purchasing, Project Management, and Production to ensure change impacts are captured and clearly communicated;
  • Support the development and implementation of corporate configuration management processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support production and engineering through the build and management of products within projects, while maintaining the documentation related to Kraken's standard offerings.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE;

  • Bachelor of Engineering, or Diploma in Engineering Technology;
  • Experience with production Assembly and Quality documentation considered an asset;
  • Experience within production environments considered an asset;
  • Experience in the use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Packages considered an asset;
  • Experience in the use Product Data Management (PDM) Packages considered an asset but not required;
  • Experience with Configuration Management or Change Management Organizational practices considered an asset but not required;
  • Strong Interpersonal, analytic, and problem-solving skills are essential; as well as written and oral communication skills
  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada "Reliability" status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
