As a Compensation Specialist reporting to the Manager, Total Rewards & HR Operations, you will play a critical role in assisting in the design, implementation and administration of our Total Rewards Programs and optimizing various HR processes, and leading projects. You will collaborate with cross functional teams, HR, finance, and Leadership teams to ensure that our compensation offerings are competitive, compliant, and aligned with the company's strategic goals. Your expertise in analyzing market trends and designing attractive packages will be crucial in to attract, retain, and motivate top talent.
How you will make an impact
Compensation Management:
- Assist in developing and implementing compensation strategies, policies, and frameworks aligned with the organization's goals.
- Conduct comprehensive salary surveys, benchmarking exercises, and market research to determine competitive salary ranges/wage grids for different job roles and locations.
- Analyze compensation data and propose salary structures, pay scales, and incentive programs to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
- Provide insights on compensation trends and practices to support informed decision-making.
- Administer various compensation programs, including salary reviews, annual salary review process, incentives, pay equity, and bonuses considering performance evaluations and merit-based adjustments.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners to review and validate compensation recommendations.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with local and national wage laws and regulations.
HR Process Optimization:
- Assess current HR processes and identify areas for improvement, efficiency gains, and automation opportunities.
- Propose and implement process changes to streamline workflows, reduce manual efforts, and enhance the overall HR service delivery.
- Develop process documentation, guidelines, and training materials to ensure consistency and adherence to best practices for HR Team and team members.
HR Projects Management:
- Lead and participate in HR projects, such as system implementations, process improvements, policy updates, and organizational changes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
- Track project progress, identify potential risks or bottlenecks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project completion.
- Conduct post-implementation evaluations to measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
Compliance and Policies:
- Stay updated on HR laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to compensation and HR operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards in all HR processes and compensation practices.
What you'll bring to our team
- Post secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Designation or Certification in CCP (Certified Compensation Professional), CMS (Compensation Management Specialist), CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist), GBS (Group Benefits Specialist), Lean Six Sigma is an asset.
- Proven experience (5 years) as a Compensation Specialist, HR Analyst, HR Operations Specialist, or similar roles with a focus on compensation. Experience with benefits is also an asset.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in data analysis and ability to interpret complex data related to compensation and HR processes.
- In-depth knowledge of compensation principles, strategies, and best practices.
- Proficiency in excel, HRIS and other HR-related software applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Familiarity with local and national labor laws and regulations related to compensation and data privacy regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
