What you'll do

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, as a member of the operational services team, you are responsible for work involved in the tasks of shipping, receiving, storing, and overall care and control of material. This is inclusive of but not limited to: unpacking, checking, recording and maintaining receipt and records of goods manually as well as in computer systems, including the Electronic Purchasing Requisition system, initiating electronic requisitions for replenishing stock, transporting individuals, supplies, construction material, mail, and refuse, loading and unloading of vehicles and transporting the materials. This includes the use of pallet jacks, forklifts and other types of lifts. You are also responsible for ensuring that your assigned areas are kept in an orderly and tidy condition. Related duties may be assigned from time to time as they become necessary to the operation of NBCC.

Qualifications

Required qualifications for this opportunity include the completion of high school or GED and a minimum of three (3) months of experience in shipping and receiving. The successful candidate must possess basic computer skills, good communication and interpersonal skills, thrive in a team environment and must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive hourly wage for this position ranging from $19.90 - $20.48 and comprises a 40-hour work week. This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Canadian Union of Public Employees collective agreement (Operational Services Group) for the College.
