NBCC is currently seeking a dynamic and competent leader for the position of Community College Instructor.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Department Head, as a member of the faculty team, you are responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders, as well as other related duties.

Specific instructional areas and courses within the program may include but are not limited to: fundamentals of rooms division; applied housekeeping; essential communications skills; business ventures; hotel and restaurant revenue management; food and beverage; social media and technology in hospitality; marketing and sales, and essential facilities operation. The successful incumbent will be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices.

Qualifications

Required qualifications for this opportunity include a two-year diploma in a hospitality and tourism management with a minimum of five (5) years of recent and related experience; OR a bachelor's degree in hospitality and tourism management with a minimum of three (3) years of recent and related experience. A comprehensive knowledge of MS Office is required. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Preference may be given to candidates who have experience teaching in a post-secondary environment.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $1,993 to $2,808 bi-weekly. Successful candidates may be eligible for a higher maximum step, up to $3,067 bi-weekly, based on their level of post-secondary education. This is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees collective agreement (Education - Instructional Group) for the College.
