What you'll do
Reporting to the department head, as a member of the Allied Health Team, you are responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.
The successful incumbent will have the knowledge, skills and ability to teach in the classroom. The incumbent will also oversee students in clinical rotation in the hospital laboratory. Specific instructional areas and courses within the program include but are not limited to: transfusion science, hematology and medical laboratory assisting, phlebotomy, ethics, communication, laboratory math, urinalysis, medical terminology, point of care testing and instrumentation. Responsibilities will also include ordering of laboratory supplies, scheduling of laboratory activities and classroom management.

What you'll need
Required qualifications for this opportunity include a diploma in medical laboratory technology, and a minimum of five (5) years of recent and related experience in a hospital laboratory environment; or a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science, and a minimum of three (3) years of recent and related experience in a hospital laboratory environment. Candidates must be in possession of or be eligible for licensing from the New Brunswick Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists (NBSMLT). Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of immunization and criminal background check. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.
Written and spoken competence in English is required.
Preference may be given to candidates who have experience teaching in a post-secondary environment. Knowledge of the accreditation process to assist with program accreditation and experience in other areas of Medical Laboratory Technology will be considered an asset.
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $1,692 to $2,685 bi-weekly. Successful candidates may be eligible for a higher maximum step, up to $2,932 bi-weekly, based on their level of post-secondary education. This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees collective agreement (Education – Instructional Group) for the College.
