What you'll do

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Department Head of Industrial and Automotive programs, as a member of the faculty team, you are responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.

Specific instructional areas and courses within the program will include related subjects in the full scope of the trade, such as (but not limited to): Safety practices, trade-related math and physics, welding, rigging, blueprint reading, lathe operations, milling machine operations; and other subjects as required.

Qualifications

Required qualifications for this opportunity include a high school diploma, or equivalency, a valid Machinist Red Seal, and a minimum of three (3) years of recent, related work experience at the Journeyperson's level. Candidates should also possess working ability in MS Office. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Preference may be given to candidates who have experience teaching in a post-secondary environment and those who have a Red Seal in Industrial Mechanics or Welding.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $1,973 to $2,780 bi-weekly. Successful candidates may be eligible for a higher maximum step, up to $3,036 bi-weekly, based on their level of post-secondary education. This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees collective agreement (Education - Instructional Group) for the College.
