What you'll do
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Department Head, as a member of the faculty team, you are responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.
Specific instructional areas and courses within the program may include but are not limited to: Object Oriented Programming using: C# and Java, Responsive Web Development using: HTML5, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS3), JavaScript, and jQuery, Server-side Web Development using: ASP.Net and ASP.Net MVC, PHP, JSP and Servlets, Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, IOS Application Development, Android Application Development, Hybrid Mobile Application Development, N-Tier Development Methodologies, Database Design, Software Testing, SQL Programming, Project Management, and Photoshop. The successful incumbent will be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices.
What you'll need
Qualifications
Required qualifications for this opportunity include a bachelor's degree in computer science and a minimum of three (3) years of recent and related experience; or a two-year diploma in information technology and a minimum of five (5) years of recent and related experience. Experience must include web development and design as well as mobile development. Knowledge of C#, SQL, JavaScript programming, Object oriented programming and database programming are essential.
Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.
Written and spoken competence in English is required.
Preference may be given to candidates who have experience teaching in a post-secondary environment. Knowledge of hybrid mobile development is an asset.
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $1,692 to $2,685 bi-weekly. Successful candidates may be eligible for a higher maximum step, up to $2,932 bi-weekly, based on their level of post-secondary education. This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees collective agreement (Education - Instructional Group) for the College.
