What you'll do
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Department Head, as a member of the faculty team, you are responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.
Specific instructional areas and courses within the program may include, but are not limited to: Introduction to PC Hardware and Software, Technical Writing and Research, Introduction to SQL, Intermediate SQL, Fundamentals of Web Design, Introduction to Programming, Object Orientated Programming, Test Planning & Design, Test Execution, Quality Assurance Processes, Test Automation, Functional Testing, Non Functional Testing, and Automated Testing Frameworks.
The successful incumbent will be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices. You will also plan, evaluate and monitor student practicum placements.

Qualifications
Required qualifications for this opportunity include a degree in Computer Science with a minimum of three (3) years of recent & related experience; OR a diploma in Information Technology with a minimum of five (5) years of recent & related experience; or a certificate in Information Technology with seven (7) years of recent & related experience. Related experience must include work in the quality assurance and testing field, as well as experience with test planning and design, test execution, test automation, functional testing, automated testing frameworks and quality assurance. A working knowledge of, and experience working with, SQL, C#, Java and JavaScript is also required. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.
Written and spoken competence in English is required.
Preference may be given to candidates with who have experience teaching in a post-secondary environment.
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $1,692 to $2,685 bi-weekly. Successful candidates may be eligible for a higher maximum step, up to $2,932 bi-weekly, based on their level of post-secondary education. This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees collective agreement (Education-Instructional Group) for the College.
