Responsibilities

Reporting to the Regional Director, as a member of the regional leadership team, you are responsible for the effective leadership of students, staff and operational performance. The successful candidate will ensure a quality learning environment and provide input into the development and delivery of all educational programs and services related to your department. In addition to managing staff and budget resources, you will lead and support employee engagement, support student success and retention, provide consultation and delivery of contract training, and will participate in active relationship building with industry, academic and community partners, as well as other related duties.

The Department Head role requires results-oriented management experience, adaptability and a proven ability to effectively lead people through change, while balancing priorities and successfully leading student and staff engagement, academic delivery and operational effectiveness. The successful incumbent will be a team player, accountable and committed to contributing to the overall success of the organization.

What you'll need

Qualifications

Required qualifications for this opportunity include a two (2) year diploma and a minimum of eight (8) years of recent and related work experience; or a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of six (6) years of recent and related work experience; or a Master's degree and a minimum of four (4) years of recent and related work experience. Related work experience must include two (2) years of progressive experience in a leadership role, with direct management of staff and resources in a results driven, business environment. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Preference may be given to candidates with leadership/management experience in a post-secondary environment, or who have professional expertise and credentials in Information Technology or Business Administration.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $65,650 to $87,360 annually.
