Are you looking for a summer job? Are you great with Kids? NBCC Miramichi is looking for Camp Helpers and Indigenous Learner Educational Assistants to help run our College4Kids Summer Camp. Reporting to the Coordinator, the Camp Helpers and Educational Assistants are responsible for organizing and assisting in making the camp experience positive for the campers.

These positions will run from July 8, 2019 to July 26, 2019.

Key Responsibilities

Educational Assistants:

  • Provide accommodations and support for Indigenous Learners enrolled in C4K summer programs
  • To support C4K Helpers in the activities involved in the day-to-day operations of the C4K summer programs

NBCC offers a competitive wage for the Educational Assistant position at $21 per hour.

Camp Helper:

  • Assist in program delivery by supporting the activity leader(s) as required to provide uninterrupted and consistent program delivery
  • Organize group activities during free times
  • Assist in maintaining control in the classroom, during lunch periods and during drop-off and pick-up times
  • Support the leader by liaising with the Coordinator on resource requirements as they come up

NBCC offers a competitive wage for the Camp Helper position of $14 per hour.

What you'll need

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School graduation with work or volunteer experience with children
  • Written and spoken competence in English
  • Preference will be given to those with experience working with children
  • Current criminal record check is required.
  • CPR/First Aid Certificate would be an asset
