Are you looking for a summer job? Are you great with Kids? NBCC Fredericton is looking for Camp Helpers and Subject Matter Experts to help run our College 4 Kids Summer Camp.
Reporting to the Coordinator, the Camp Helpers and Subject Matter Experts are responsible for organizing and assisting in making the camp experience positive for the campers. Subject Matter Experts, with the assistance of the Camp Helpers, are responsible for the hands on delivery of the camp and overseeing 'free time' activities for campers.
These positions will run from July 8 to July 19, 2019.

Subject Matter Experts:
Kids with Cameras & Game ON! Camps
Young Engineers: Myth Busters STEM Camp
We are seeking Subject Matter Experts with backgrounds in Information Technology, Science or Engineering and Education.
- Identify learning outcomes for the camp and ensure that program content is engaging and interesting for campers
- Plan for the needs of the camp in terms of supplies, space, hand-outs, tools and equipment including IT support and hardware
- Work with the Coordinator to develop the schedule for delivery of the training for the week
- Deliver the program
- Deal with day-to-day classroom management and forward concerns to Coordinator
- Ensure work area remains clean and safe for campers
- Support a positive image of NBCC to campers and their parents
Camp Helper:
- Assist in program delivery by supporting the activity leader(s) as required to provide uninterrupted and consistent program delivery
- Organize group activities during free times
- Assist in maintaining control in the classroom, during lunch periods and during drop-off and pick-up times
- Support the leader by liaising with the Coordinator on resource requirements as they come up
What you'll need
Qualifications
Required qualifications for this opportunity include:
- High School graduation with work or volunteer experience with children
- Written and spoken competence in English
- Experience and training in the area of expertise required to deliver the program. Preference will be given to those with experience working with children.
- Current criminal record check is required.
- CPR/First Aid Certificate would be an asset
