Are you looking for a fun summer job opportunity? Are you great with kids? NBCC Moncton is looking for a Camp Instructor to help with our College4Kids Summer Camp in our 'Keep Calm and Bake On!!' summer program.

The Keep Calm and Bake On!! camp runs for two weeks, from Monday to Friday, July 4 - July 15, 2022.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Coordinator, the Camp Instructor for Keep Calm and Bake On!! is responsible for organizing and assisting in making the camp experience positive for the campers. The Instructor, with the assistance of the Camp Helpers, is responsible for the hands-on-delivery of the camp and overseeing 'free time' activities for campers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identify learning outcomes for the camp and ensure that program content is engaging and interesting for campers (you get to help the campers create delicious baked goods!)
  • Plan for the needs of the camp in terms of supplies, space, hand-outs, tools and equipment
  • Work with the Coordinator to develop the schedule for delivery of the training for the week (be organized, creative and have a plan for the week of fun and learning)
  • Be able to create a fun, enjoyable, creative and safe atmosphere for campers
  • Deliver the program (hands on and creative learning)
  • Deal with day-to-day classroom management and forward concerns to Coordinator
  • Ensure work area remains clean and safe for campers
  • Support a positive image of NBCC to campers and their parents

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • High School graduation with work or volunteer experience with children
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Written and spoken competence in English
  • Experience and training in the area of baking and cooking would be an asset
  • Preference will be given to those with experience working with children
  • Must have clear background check in the vulnerable sector
  • CPR/First Aid Certificate (would be an asset)
