The New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) is seeking a creative, driven and solution-focused individual for the position of Classification and Employee Development Specialist.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

This position will report to and work closely with the Lead for Talent and Organizational Development and with the Employee Engagement and Culture Team.

The Classification & Employee Development Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Analysis, evaluation and classification of new and existing positions using the Korn Ferry Hay Methodology,
  • Overseeing professional development programs and working collaboratively to support Talent Acquisition.

As the ideal candidate for this position, you will:

  • Be responsible for evaluating a diverse portfolio of positions and managing client expectations to deliver high quality services.
  • Apply critical thinking skills when conducting research and analysis to ensure consistency in classifying both management and non-management positions using the Korn Ferry Hay Methodology.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on matters related to job evaluation and classification issues to internal and external clients and stakeholder.

  • Lead classification reviews, job description updates, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to design, develop, and implement a range of training solutions, and to deliver professional development programs, based on training needs analysis.
  • Make recommendations for learning and organizational development solutions such as coaching, facilitation, team culture, and identifying resources needed to implement.
  • Continuously identify and evaluate business opportunities to improve systems and processes to reduce cost, mitigate risks and increase efficiencies.
  • Responsible for leading and/or participating in inter-departmental project teams/working groups, as deemed necessary, in an effort to advance new initiatives, programs and/or services.

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in a related discipline with relevant years of experience in Human Resources and particularly employee and organizational development.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Korn Ferry Hay methodology for classification.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications and excellent oral and written communication.
  • Ability to act decisively and to exercise initiative and strong judgement on a wide range of issues.
  • Critical thinking and problems solving skills and above all, creative, independent, and flexible.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.
