Emergency Medical Care Inc. (EMC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Medavie Health Services that manages and operates ground ambulance, air medical transport and the medical communications operations in Nova Scotia through a performance-based contract with the provincial government's Emergency Health Services (EHS) division and the Department of Health and Wellness. As well, EMC operates TeleHealth 811 medical communications for Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island for the Department of Health.

EMC delivers a high-quality pre-hospital care program and TeleHealth service to Nova Scotians each and every day. We achieve this through the more than 1,400 employees who work with us including highly-trained paramedics, nurses, medical communication officers and support staff.

We are currently searching for a driven and professional Change Management Specialist, with a well-rounded background in applying change management processes and tools in a software deployment project utilizing Prosci or other recognized change management methodology.

Reporting to the EMC Business Analyst, the Change Management Specialist (CMS) is responsible for designing, developing and executing change management strategies to support EMC's organization wide Human Capital Management (HCM) system rollout. The Change Management Specialist will focus on the people side of change, including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures. The CMS will work with various EMC stakeholders to map, implement and monitor change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption, engagement, minimize resistance and ensure sustainability by:

  • Introducing change management processes and tools and executing a Change Strategy to support adoption;
  • Applying a structured methodology and lead change management activities;
  • Supporting the design, development, delivery of communications and training activities;
  • Supporting training plan development, identification of training requirements and roll out of training;
  • Creating Training Needs Analysis and provide advice for business and system change;
  • Identifying risks, gaps and potential resistance competency and special tactics and coordinate stakeholder efforts with other change functions i.e. training and communications to ensure there's alignment among the broader project team and business;
  • Developing processes to sustain change (New employee, Employee role change);
  • Leading Change Champion activities by building a team structure of Champions and working closely with them and HR/Payroll to drive faster adoption, higher ultimate utilization of, and proficiency with the changes that impact employees;
  • Conducting change impact assessments and run impact analysis and assess change readiness;
  • Providing on-going communications and status updates on change management deliverables;
  • Developing plans, processes and procedures as required in support of project requirements;
  • Coordinating, scheduling, planning and conducting integration activities in support of project milestones;
  • Actively seeking opportunities to influence various Workday users such as HR, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, Managers and field staff;
  • Developing plans, processes and procedures as required to support the ongoing adoption and development of Workday;
  • Executing on other change management activities, such as Attendance Management.

The successful candidate is someone who has sound knowledge of organizational change management principles, practices and methodologies, and can successfully utilize those skills to build comprehensive and innovative change plans. The CMS will be highly collaborative, and will be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships and effectively interface with senior leadership and various stakeholders at all levels of the organization. He or she is also someone who can excel in a dynamic environment, and will be able to immediately jump in and evaluate the current state of the organization, assess opportunities, and support in the execution of change. The successful candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of related experience, and proven ability running change management initiatives and programs, ideally with project management experience, be Prosci ADKAR Certified and be familiar with agile development frameworks. He or she will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism, advanced problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills. The CMS will be able to lead and inspire cross-functional (non-direct report) teams and be able to deliver results through influence without authority. As an individual who enjoys challenges, the successful candidate must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, where change is constant. Experience in a public sector, health sector or not-for-profit environment an asset.
