The salary scale for NSCC Faculty is based on twelve steps that range from $47.55 - $65.63 per hour. New Faculty may receive up to a maximum of five steps for relevant occupational experience and may receive up to an additional four steps for full-time equivalent years of instructional experience (instructional experience is defined as teaching post-secondary). The maximum a new Faculty can expect to receive is nine steps or $61.20 per hour.

Responsibilities
This posting will be used to hire temporary positions with a set number of hours for the following: delivery of workforce development training through contract training to industry partners of Nova Scotia Community College and continuous education public offerings. This posting is to develop a candidate pool of qualified faculty to support workforce development offerings that fall within the School of Technology and the Enviroment. We are currently seeking qualified candidates to support both training development and delivery in the following topic areas:
- Manufacturing
- Information Technology
- Construction
- Solar Photovoltaic
- Forestry
- Environment
- Sustainability and natural resources
We currently have active opportunities in:
Solar Photovoltaic Systems
- Microcredentials in system installation, design, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Opportunities for Red Seal electricians with experience in electrical interconnections
Construction Management
- Microcredentials in construction management, estimating and contract management
What you will be doing…
As a member of the Applied Research, Innovation and Workforce Development team you will:
- Provide expertise and assistance in the development of relevant curriculum as well as learning material to be used in the delivery, or you may leverage existing resources to deliver our turnkey courses
- Work closely with curriculum consultants and instructional designers to develop curriculum and teaching and learning materials.
- Collaboratively deliver educational experiences for a diverse group of learners. This will include instruction, assessment, and evaluation of students using a broad range of flexible teaching and learning practices and technologies such as Learning Management Systems (e.g. Brightspace) and classroom technology.
- Be responsible to represent the College as required and to uphold NSCC policies and procedures.
- Ensure health and safety practices and procedures are followed in your classroom, shops and labs.
- This position may involve different delivery modalities (e.g. in-class, online, blended online/in-class), off-site instruction and alternate work hours such as weekends and evenings.

Qualifications
Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
- The educational qualification for this position is a college or university degree relevant to the topics listed above.
- You have a minimum 5 years' experience working in the above listed industries
- You have experience in course delivery to a broad group of learners at various stages of their careers.
- Experience working as a collaborative team for the development of teaching and learning material.
- Experience in developing curriculum and course material for targeted custom training for industry would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience teaching online and/or using e-learning technology in a blended format, would be considered an asset.
- You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail. Experience using Skype for Business, Brightspace as well as publisher-developer or web-based auxiliary learning tools, would be considered an asset.
- You possess basic internet skills to search for information coupled with internet information skills to evaluate the information you find. Above all, you are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in support of an exceptional student experience.
- You have demonstrated experience liaising with business and industry in your field.
- Ideally, you have related experience in delivery of educational programs or training to adults.
