Career Development & Employment Services (CDES)
Career Development & Employment Services (CDES) supports UNB students and recent graduates by offering comprehensive career advising and resources. CDES assists students in identifying and articulating their skills to enhance employability, and employment programs connect academic experiences to career interests. The department provides career assessments, labour market guidance, resume and cover letter reviews, interview preparation, and tailored career development education. CDES also fosters employer relationships to create networking opportunities, including employer information sessions, career fairs, and other events.

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 29 hours per week
Additional Working Conditions:
- Occasional evening and weekend work is required to accommodate special events.
Salary Range: $43,162 - $53,953 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Director of CDES, The Career Services Coordinator is responsible for providing direct service to students through individual appointments, workshops, and events. The coordinator identifies and addresses students' career and employment needs and recommends service improvements using relevant assessment data. The coordinator provides daily administrative support, including timely email and student inquiry responses, monitors and maintains the budget, and promotes CDES services to students, staff, and faculty. The coordinator may be assigned other duties as required by the department.
- Collaborate with the director and CDES colleagues to design, implement, and evaluate career-related programs and initiatives.
- Conduct and oversee workshops, classroom visits, fairs, employer visits to campus, networking events, and more.
- Coordinate program development and provide day-of-event leadership and support.
- Identify and establish the campus community's needs regarding career development and employment services.
- Conduct program evaluation and measurement and use data to inform decision-making.
- Hire and supervise part-time student staff.
- Promote CDES Services to students, faculty, staff, and employers.
- Develop and deliver orientation presentations and other workshops that highlight CDES offerings.
- Contribute to CDES and Student Affairs & Services social media and maintain online platforms for students to access career and internship opportunities.
- Provide daily administrative support, including timely responses to emails and student inquiries.
- Aid in coordination and organization of regular operations, activities, and events of CDES.
- Collaborate with the Employer Relations Coordinator to organize and conduct career fairs, arrange for occupational speakers, facilitate networking opportunities for students, and other initiatives as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
- A University Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Career Development or a related field.
Additional Strengths
- Experience in a Post-Secondary environment is considered an asset.
- Experience with event planning and career development resources and tools is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide information, produce correspondence, and craft marketing materials, including web content and newsletters.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Forms, Planner & SharePoint).
- Ability to address a wide variety of audiences.
- Displays appreciation for and recognizes the value of different opinions, roles, experiences, cultures, and backgrounds.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to deliver high-quality results under pressure and with firm deadlines and often evolving priorities.
- Ability to adopt new technologies quickly.
