NBCC is currently seeking dynamic and competent individuals for a regular and a one-year term position for Business Systems Analyst at our Corporate Office lcoation in Fredericton.

The term position is to June 2019, with the possibility of extension or becoming regular.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Enterprise Applications, as a member of the SIMS (Student Information Management System) team, you will be responsible for providing functional support and troubleshooting within PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. This is performed through project assignments, application upgrades and operational support for the various modules within Campus Solutions.

Specifically your duties will include undertaking the review of business processes in conjunction with current system users, including workflow analysis and functional process charts to identify process improvements; documenting the current and desired state of processes noting the size of the change and the stakeholders affected; conducting cost benefit analyses; participating in the upgrade of current systems, identifying impacts on users and process changes associated with upgrades; patch testing and documentation; performing data "audits" to ensure data integrity is maintained; developing plans and strategies for implementation of new modules and functionality, including designing and configuring modules and new features; developing training material on any system changes and delivering training to users; and other related duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will be flexible and a quick learner, with an ability to manage and track a large number of details and facts and understand how each detail will fit into the 'big picture'. He/she will also be adept at working in a fast-paced, high volume environment, evaluating problems accurately, and displaying sound judgment including risk assessment and timely escalation, and meeting critical deadlines. Strong customer service, troubleshooting, verbal and written communication skills are also essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

Required qualifications for this opportunity include a two-year diploma in information technology or business with seven years of related experience; OR a degree in computer science or business with five years of related experience. Related experience must include relational databases, business analysis tools and techniques, reporting tools and technical writing. The candidate must be willing to work occasional irregular hours, including weekends or evenings, and open to occasional travel to other NBCC locations around the province as required. As such, candidates must also possess a valid driver's license. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

As part of your application, please submit a technical writing sample of your work, such as requirements specifications, strategy documentation on projects, training material, configuration guides, etc.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Preference may be given to candidates with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or other student administration applications, and to candidates who have experience working in a post-secondary environment.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $1,876 to $2,615 bi-weekly. This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees - Information Technology collective agreement for the College.
