Clearwater Seafoods' Information Systems and Global Business Solutions team requires a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst based at their Bedford, Nova Scotia Corporate Office. The position is a permanent full-time position and reports to the Director, SAP Integration.

Purpose of Position:

The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is responsible for reporting solutions to meet our business needs. This position will work in partnership with the business, external vendors and other team members to discover and document functional and technical needs, to design, develop and test solutions using one or many of the integrated enterprise reporting solutions in use at the Clearwater.

Job Duties:  

  • Apply a variety of techniques to elicit and gather business and user requirements from stakeholders;
  • Work with the business to understand business issues and opportunities;
  • Drive the development of functional and system specifications, including : conducting fit/gap analysis, business process modeling, and clearly documenting functional requirements and business rules to describe what the system, process, or product/service must do to fulfill the requirements;
  • Develop Data Models in both SAP Business Warehouse (BW) and SAP HANA to meet business requirements; building interactive dashboards;
  • Support the development of the test strategy and test plans. Ensure traceability of requirements back to business need as well as through to solution and testing. Validate the solution meets the business need and verify it conforms to specifications;
  • Communicate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems to technical and business teams as well as create user guides and training; and
  • Provide operational support for Clearwater's existing SAP BW and business objects footprint as well as providing SAP BW and business objects problem resolution and assistance.

  • Expertise in facilitation, negotiation, gaining consensus and managing conflicting set of requirements.

Job Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years' experience working as a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst;
  • 1 to 3 years' experience developing reports and objects in SAP Business Warehouse (BW) Systems;
  • A University degree or equivalent in IT or Business and/or relevant discipline;
  • Familiarity with Agile concepts and practices;
  • Hands-on experience in an integrated ERP environment;
  • Hands-on experience developing data models and reports;
  • Experience in requirements gathering and documentation;
  • Experience in functional and technical specifications definition and documentation; and
  • Experience in testing strategies and procedures and documentation.

Working Conditions:

  • Location - Bedford, Nova Scotia with hybrid remote work schedule
  • Travel - occasional travel to plant operations will be required
