Gidney Fisheries has made a significant investment in their processing plant with a new High Pressure Processing facility for premium Frozen Lobster. As a result we are seeking an ambitious, self-motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. The BDM will promote and sell the company’s new HPP (High Pressure Processing) Frozen Lobster product to customers worldwide. HPP is a new innovation for premium lobster and the preferred choice of top chefs in USA, Europe and Asia and the pinnacle of frozen lobster cuisine.

Responsibilities

This key role will primarily be responsible for opening up the market and creating new business opportunities for HPP Frozen Lobster worldwide by targeting buyers interested in this premium lobster products.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience in the Lobster or frozen seafood commodity and value-added industry on a domestic and international level. They will show eagerness in developing a new customer base and relations as well as bring with them a history of good solid existing business relationships. The job entails a large percentage of sales to be started and completed via telephone including cold calls. Collaboration and co-ordination of orders and shipments as well as logistics with head office will be standard protocol.

Reporting directly to the president you will have the opportunity to grow this division with unlimited earning potential. You’ll add to the CRM, track leads, actions, and follow sales progress from start to finish owning this division. You will share information with team members, marketing team and other departments. The BDM will introduce customer to our "ahead of the curve" HPP Frozen Lobster products as well as sell our complimentary services such as our Live Seafood products.

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • - Minimum 3 years of experience in seafood sales and business development
  • - A proven track record and client base
  • - Strong customer relations and account portfolio
  • - Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • - Must be a team player
  • - Bring an existing local, domestic and international customer base
  • - Ability to communicate exceptionally and continuously over the phone
  • - Ability to open and close opportunities over the phone
  • -Ability to build relationships and travel and close business internationally
  • - Confident in a very fast paced environment
  • - Quick learner and decision marker, adaptable to various situations
  • - Solution oriented and a good problem solver
  • - Proficient using a computer to complete daily tasks, such as email
  • - Ability to effectively collaborate with team members and other departments
  • - Able to meet regularly in the head office, Digby Neck, Nova Scotia.
  • - Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
  • - Ability to develop long-term relationships with clients to maintain repeat business
  • - Knowledge of Seafood Industry is required.
