The Business Development and Marketing Coordinator will play a key role in assisting in the execution of SKUFood's business plan. The main goal will be to work with and grow the membership and to interact with membership to encourage use of the SKUFOOD tools. You will manage client accounts and come up with new sales strategies, sales pitches, and business plans.

If you have a background in sales or marketing and knowledge of current issues in the food producing or food processing business this could position for you. 

This position is a 12 month contract with opportunity for renewal.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Target, grow and maintain SKUFood's membership
  • Manage and maintain member relationships from creating welcome packages for new members to encouraging the use of membership tools
  • Identify speaking opportunities and create sales and marketing packages for speaking engagements
  • Conduct business and market research to understand developing trends in the food industry and action this research to inform and drive business strategy, and to use for blog and social media posts
  • Update and effectively manage relevant social media platforms to target and identify opportunities, including but not limited to Facebook, LinkedIn, blogs and the company website
  • Support the preparation and distribution of content for company's social media accounts
  • Assist with other marketing & business development activities as required

What you'll need

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of business development (able to identify opportunities, complete needs assessments, write proposals, market and promote services and budget)
  • Discover market potential and perform analysis of market conditions, trends and forecasts to drive new business opportunities for clients
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with our membership and encourage use of SKUFood's tools to improve business results
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize work under time sensitive deadlines is essential in order to meet the demands of the position
  • Exceptional presentation and PowerPoint skills
  • Exceptional writing, language, and presentation composition skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills to maintain business relationships and prepare a variety of documents
  • Technical expertise & experience in branding, advertising, marketing collateral, presentation materials
  • Strong initiative, creative and innovative skills
  • Client focused; adopting client perspective in all interactions
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient computer skills such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and WordPress and social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Facebook
  • Bachelor's degree in business
