The Chapman Group is delighted to assist Loyalist City Towing in recruiting for a Bookeeper to join their amazing team. 

Loyalist City Towing began in the early 1970s with one truck, two brothers, and a dream.

The brothers established good business practices and over the years bought additional trucks and equipment. Today, they have 25 plus units, 18 employees, and 2 shops. They paint and repair all their own equipment and proudly serve Atlantic Canada with the same degree of commitment, as they did from the very beginning.

They are looking for a full time, experienced Bookkeeper to join their team. The successful candidate is responsible for maintaining organized and timely financial information for the day-to-day operations of the business. This position is essential to the accuracy and currency of the company financials and works to ensure all standard bookkeeping practices are being met on a daily/monthly/annual basis.

Responsibilities

· Perform overall accounting and administrative support

· Responsible for a full cycle accounting system using accounting software

· Oversee accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, including invoicing, cash receipts and collections, accounts payable, payroll administration, company statutory filings and remittance

· Submit Work Safe monthly remittance and HST Quarterly remittance

· Provide human resource support when required

· Interact with Management, Shareholders and Company Accountant for year end

What you'll do

· Minimum 3-5 years experience in Accounting and Payroll

· Responsible for full cycle accounting system

· Familiarity with Sage accounting software considered and asset

· Solid computer experience IE: internet access/usage

· Self-starter, quick learner, ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Willingness to take on new challenges and grow with the position

· Proficient organizational skills

· Good verbal and written communication skills
