McInnes Cooper is seeking a motivated and proactive Billing Clerk to join our Accounting and Finance team in our Halifax office for a fourteen (14) month term position. The incumbent will provide high quality billing and collections support within our firm; working to ensure all internal and external clients receive the highest level of client service.
What you'll do
Responsibilities
As a Billing Clerk, you will be responsible for:
- Creation of invoices and credit memos;
- Support firm members with the implementation and maintenance of billing rates;
- Review and analyze Work In Progress (WIP) reports;
- Reconcile the firm's billing cycle including pre-billing and invoice submission;
- Support the firms collections processes;
- Facilitate quality control and audit processes; and,
- Perform other duties as required.
What you'll need
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following skill set:
- Diploma in Finance, Accounting or Business;
- Minimum one year of related experience;
- Proficient in data entry and Microsoft Excel with exceptional attention to detail;
- Exceptional communication skills, a special focus on client service and the highest degree of professionalism;
- Experience with legal billing software, preferably Elite 3E;
- Experience working in a professional services environment will be considered an asset; and,
- A positive attitude and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment!
