We are currently looking to fill the position of BA Advisor to join our Faculty of Arts team.

Job Information and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Dean of Arts, Deans designate, or the Senior BA Advisor, the BA Advisor will:

  • Provide academic support services for students enrolled in the undergraduate programs delivered by the Faculty of Arts
  • Work directly with students, provides administration and analytical support to programs in the Faculty of Arts, engages in outreach activities when appropriate
  • Liaise with faculty
  • Assist other student support services and departments across campus
  • Communicate with perspective, new, and current students about academic programs and services
  • Perform other activities related to student advising as assigned by their immediate supervisors

Experience and Education Requirements

To be the successful BA Advisor you will have:

  • Undergraduate degree. MA considered an asset.
  • Minimum three to five years related professional experience.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience teaching/mentoring adults and making presentations.
  • Professional judgment and discretion. Strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated skill in using common office, desktop publishing and communication software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Net web tools).
