St. Thomas University invites applications for the position of Associate Vice-President - Enrolment Management (AVPEM) to begin September 1, 2019. The successful applicant will be creative and innovative, providing hands-on leadership in planning and executing a strategic enrolment management plan that leads to an outstanding student experience and student success. Strategic Priorities and Responsibilities:
Building on an existing integrated approach to enrolment management, the AVPEM will lead the recruiting, admissions, student services, and residence areas. The role AVPEM is responsible for refining, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating data-driven annual strategic and operational plans for these areas. In addition to these core priorities, other responsibilities include working with senior Enrolment Management staff to evaluate and benchmark current efforts relating to recruitment, as well as for research and development of new markets. The AVPEM will also work with the Vice-President (Academic and Research) and the Vice-President (Finance and Administration) to achieve effective use of institutional financial assistance to maximize enrolment.
Operational Responsibilities:
The AVPEM reports to the Vice-President (Academic and Research), the chief academic officer of the University. Administrative Directors in the following offices report to the AVPEM: Recruiting, Admissions, and Student Services/Residence Life. The AVPEM works collaboratively with the Deans of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Registrar, Comptroller, Director of Institutional Research, and Director of Marketing. The AVPEM also has effective working relationships with the Departmental Chairs and faculty members to ensure appropriate participation by academic units in student recruitment and retention. The position AVEP will Chair the Enrolment Management Committee and serve on other university committees.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a minimum of seven years of progressive experience relating to enrolment management areas and demonstrated judgement and decision-making capabilities. The AVPEM must be a highly efficient, effective leader able to motivate staff and with a record of success in enrolment management in a university environment. Experience in strategic planning, management at the senior level, admissions, customer relations, marketing, student services, retention, and market development is essential. Experience in developing articulated agreements and student financial aid packages is required. Knowledge of customer relationship management software and the ability to leverage technology in decision-making is an asset.
Working collaboratively with others, the AVPEM must be an effective communicator to internal and external audiences who can build rapport among the Enrolment Management team and with other the Administrative Offices and Academic Departments.

St. Thomas University
Established in 1910, St. Thomas University is a primarily undergraduate, liberal arts institution with a full-time enrolment of 1600 that offers a Bachelor of Arts, Applied Arts, Education, and Social Work and a Master of Social Work. Faculty members are distinguished teachers, researchers and scholars, and the university holds two Canada Research Chairs and a New Brunswick Health Research Foundation Chair.
St. Thomas University originated in 1910, when Basilian Fathers assumed responsibility for St. Thomas College in Chatham, New Brunswick. The college began granting degrees in 1934, was renamed St. Thomas University in 1960, and relocated to Fredericton in 1964. St. Thomas now has 100 full-time faculty, and 12 buildings, several of which have earned architectural design awards and make the campus one of the most renowned in Canada.

St. Thomas is the only university in Canada wholly dedicated to the study of the liberal arts.
