What you'll do

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Registrar, as a member of the Employee and Student Development team, the Associate Registrar will provide functional and operational leadership on activities relating to course registration, maintenance and protection of academic records, and certification of students for continued enrollment and for graduation.

The successful incumbent will maintain, analyze, interpret, and monitor academic and student related policies as well as manage provincial portfolios such as Student Financials, Admissions and/or Academic Records; the incumbent will be responsible for developing the workflow and guidelines for NBCC in the associated areas and coordinate implementation with various stakeholders (Student Services, Academic Development, Information Technology, Finance, Students, Sponsors, Partners, and the General Public). The Associate Registrar also supports the college's internal and external reporting requirements by ensuring effective data management practices related to their provincial portfolio such as Guidelines and Record Audits.

Other duties include but are not limited to: processing refunds, backfilling seats during peak times, training staff on procedures, facilitating meetings or workgroups with stakeholders, as well as managing internal student mobility and part-time admission applications. The Associate Registrar also plays an important leadership role with various internal and external stakeholders by soliciting feedback as well as ensuring compliance with regards to processes established by the Office of the Registrar.

Qualifications

Required quallifications for this opportunity include a two (2) year Diploma in Business or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of recent and related work experience; OR a Bachelor's degree in Business, Adult Education or a related field and a minimum of four (4) years of recent and related experience.

Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical skills and an acute attention to detail; strong familiarity with academic and student information management systems; proficiency in a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Office; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong leadership and teamwork skills; and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Sound understanding of transcript nomenclature, IDMS, and curriculum documents is considered an asset. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive bi-weekly salary for this position ranging from $2,000 to $2,403. This is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees collective agreement (Administrative and Program Support Services Group) for the College.
