We are hiring an individual who lives by our corporate values of Heart, Integrity and Drive to fill the position of Associate Counsel. Reporting directly to the Director of Legal Services, the successful candidate will provide a full range of general legal services, with an emphasis on commercial litigation, consumer disputes and employment law. What you'll do

What Will You Do?
- Oversee and manage active commercial disputes and litigation matters on behalf of FMI.
- Assist our Operations Team by providing guidance on legal matters, customer incidents, and other industry matters.
- Assist our HR Team by providing guidance and advice on labour and employment matters and jurisdictional employment standards regulations.
- Develop and enhance processes to automate, streamline or improve corporate functions.
- Actively managing external counsel where required.
- Research, analyze and communicate changes to laws and regulations that may affect the business units.
What you'll need
Qualifications
Requirements
- A member in good standing with the Law Society of New Brunswick, or another Canadian jurisdiction.
- 1 - 5 years of private practice or in-house experience
- Experience with commercial litigation, consumer disputes or employment law is preferred.
- Superior organizational skills, including the ability to handle numerous files simultaneously and independently.
- Strong analytical, written, interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective client relationships.
- Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
- Know when to ask questions, and to ask for help.
- Team-oriented with exceptional interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to shared success.
- Ability to deal easily with ambiguity and change, including changing priorities, timelines and processes.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple hard deadlines.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset.
- Candidate must be willing to attend the Woodstock Support Centre three times per week.
