Atlantic Lottery (AL) is seeking an Asset Repair Technologist located in Dartmouth, NS.

As one of our Asset Repair Technologists, you will be responsible for the overall advanced assessment of defective AL peripherals which flow through the central depot store location, performing both major and minor repairs and preventative maintenance as required. Additional responsibilities include failure/repair data analytics and reporting for the development of training protocol and proactive maintenance/procurement strategies.

Responsibilities

Electronic Asset Repair and Refurbishment:

  • Lead in the creation and on-going maintenance of specific troubleshooting work instructions designed to standardize approaches to asset testing, repair and ongoing preventative maintenance repairs.
  • For minor and major asset defects, develop and document work instruction protocols which includes consistent testing, troubleshooting and repair (where possible) which flow through the depot center.
  • Using established work order management system, complete all daily bench level work orders ensuring all depot repair activity is entered in an accurate and real-time fashion.
  • Seek out opportunities to standardize and optimize workflow between depot center, warehouse operations and field operations by impacting work-space layout and providing advice on optimizing operational flow.
  • Represent Depot Operations as a technical lead for key technology vendors relations ensuring hardware maintenance procedures and documentation align with manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Maintain a well-organized, consistently clean work area, clear of obstructions causing possible safety issues for those working in and/or visiting the area.

Data Analytics and Training:

  • Using established work order management system, develop and execute regular reports on hardware failure and repairs.
  • Analyze and present data to identify opportunity for proactive maintenance, procedural changes or part procurement strategies.
  • Analyze and present data to identify training opportunities for field/depot staff.
  • Develop and action training strategies including but not limited to in depot training, remote one on one training and streamed video training.
  • Perform follow up analysis on impact of training initiatives.

Health & Safety:

  • Act as a safety ambassador for the Logistics group ensuring all established safety procedures are followed in the depot/warehouse operations.
  • As outlined in established safety protocols, ALWAYS wear approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure the depot and warehouse work area, including all equipment is free of safety obstructions through regular inspections.
  • Mentor team members on the safe handling of electronic devices and testing protocols.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • College Diploma - Electronic Engineering Technologist program, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Asset Repair.
  • CompTIA A+ Certification.
  • In-Depth Knowledge of Mechanics and strong mechanical reasoning skills.
  • Knowledge of Computer Systems and Electrical Engineering.
  • Must be 19 years of age or older to apply.
  • Must reside in Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM).

Professional Skills:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis data analytics.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong organization and documentation skills.
