NBCC is currently seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the position of ASL 3 - Applied Research. Our College is committed to transforming lives and communities. This is a 1-year Term position, to March 31, 2019, with the possibility of extension or becoming regular.

What you'll do


Reporting to the NSERC Industrial Research Chair, as a member of the Applied Research team, you are responsible for providing support and assistance for both the operations of the Applied Research Office, and the NSERC Industrial Chair’s research program.

Your specific duties will include tracking research project activities and events; assisting with time sheets and schedules for research technicians; providing administrative support to the Mobile Advisory Committee, and other relevant committees; ensuring necessary documentation and materials are prepared and submitted; completing administrative tasks and providing support to the team to meet objectives and commitments to collaborating partners and funding agencies; as well as other related duties.

What you'll need


Required qualifications for this opportunity include a minimum of a high school diploma plus a one-year post-secondary certificate in a related field, and a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience; OR a high school diploma plus a two-year post-secondary diploma in a related field, and two (2) years of related work experience. Candidates must be proficient in MS Office applications, and specifically in Word and Excel. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.

Candidates who meet the required qualifications may be invited to testing as part of the assessment process.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Preference may be given to candidates who have experience working in a post-secondary environment.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $1,709 to $2,382 bi-weekly. This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees – Information Technology collective agreement for the College.
