Work Location: Office, Remote or Hybrid from Atlantic Canada

Atlantic Lottery (AL) is seeking an Application Architect. Location is flexible within Atlantic Canada with occasional travel to Moncton, NB. 

As the Application Architect, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing architecture strategies supporting and/or enabling Atlantic Lottery's business strategies and business plans. You are a key contributor to the development of Atlantic Lottery's enterprise architecture program, developing and ensuring the adoption of EA standards, guidelines, and principles. Primarily responsible for managing enterprise application views, portfolios, and roadmaps that identifies opportunities and risk mitigation tactics. You will work collaboratively with the IT teams and business stakeholders to understand their short and long-term objectives and contribute to the development of architecture principles and strategies to guide the development of solutions.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

Development - Contributes to the development of Atlantic Lottery's architecture framework (standards, principles, and guidelines), guiding the development of business and IT solutions.

Planning/Strategizing - Develops and documents architecture strategies and roadmaps, contributing to business plans. Proposes application and integration initiatives supporting business requirements, lifecycle management, and regulatory requirements.

Education/Communication - Communicates architecture standards and guiding principles to Atlantic Lottery as well as its vendors and partners.

Research - Research new applications, technologies, and gaming industry products and solutions, in relation to business needs.

Team Collaboration - Works with the other members of the architecture team to develop and maintain the architecture program.

What you'll need

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent would be preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in the development, execution, deployment, and integration of information systems and technology.
  • Hands-on experience with software development and/or operational background.
  • Understanding of strategic IT solutions.
  • Must be 19 years of age or older to apply.
  • Experience in project management and micro services architecture.
  • Experience in cloud providers (e.g. Azure, AWS), cloud platforms (e.g. Oracle, ServiceNow), and SaaS providers (e.g. Paysafe, Google).

Professional Skills:

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, troubleshooting and documentation skills.
  • Proven ability to maintain good working relationships with stakeholders including senior leaders.
  • Critical thinking and business influencing skills with the ability to build consensus and resolve interpersonal challenges.
  • Strong verbal and written communication/presentation skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of player-based product, sales and business development, and related social, political, technological, and economic factors that impact the gaming business.
  • Superior knowledge and skill and/or advanced understanding of extremely complex technical concepts, principles, and emergent technologies.
  • Demonstrate analytical and proven reasoning and planning skills to solve a range of practical problems.
  • Experience dealing with multiple priorities and deadlines / proven ability to meet hard deadlines.
  • Effectively contributes and collaborates with a variety of operating teams.
  • High energy, determination, and flexibility.
  • Ability to quickly identify and mitigate problems.
