Position:  Annual Giving Coordinator (APC)

Department: Development

Annual Salary: $39,295 - $50,639 (Group 2)

Under the supervision of the Manager, Annual Giving, the Annual Giving Coordinator supports the Manager, Annual Giving with the execution of all activities associated with the Annual Giving Program. This position supervises student employees in the Student Calling Program to ensure fundraising success.

Responsibilities

Duties as the Annual Giving Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervising day-to-day management of the Student Calling Program.
  • Developing a schedule for Student Callers and assigning tasks and/or delegating responsibility.
  • Developing a strategic plan for the Student Calling program.
  • Monitoring and evaluating performance of Student Callers and the overall program.
  • Preparing payroll paperwork for Student Callers and reconciling issues with Alumni that arise from the Call Centre.
  • With manager's approval, purchases supplies and materials for Student Calling Program.
  • Scheduling and preparing all online solicitations and digital components of the Annual Giving program.
  • Working with the Communications Officer to create written content for email solicitations, social media, and the Development pages on the Saint Mary's website.
  • Identifying and interviewing students and alumni to serve as spokespeople for digital content.
  • Tracking and monitoring performance of email and social media solicitations.
  • Ensuring all written content for digital solicitations follows key messages and brand standards of Saint Mary's University.
  • Responding to donor inquiries that come through Student Callers or the Development Assistant regarding Annual Giving program and general fundraising.
  • Reaching out to current pledge donors via phone, email or mail to renew or fulfill pledges.
  • Preparing and mailing letters and cards to recognize current donors.
  • Calling donors to thank them for their gifts to Saint Mary's University.
  • Reviewing and analysing performance data for current and past Annual Giving programs and making recommendations to the Manager, Annual Giving to maximize program performance.
  • Identifying and interpreting data and its relevance to fundraising program performance.
  • Maintaining accurate donor records and fundraising information in Banner and network files.
  • Managing and segmenting data files received from Advancement Services based on appeal requirements.
  • Researching fundraising trends that may impact planning and performance of Annual Giving programs.

What you'll need

Qualifications

To be the successful Annual Giving Coordinator, you must possess a High School Diploma plus a two (2) year Community College Certificate with a minimum one (1) year of directly related experience, or have completed High School Diploma and possess three (3) to five (5) years of directly related experience which may be considered. You demonstrate excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. You will possess supervisory experience and the ability to handle and maintain confidential information. Knowledge of a university environment would be considered an asset. You will be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to function independently and as part of a team. You will demonstrate cross-cultural working experience. Must be available to work some evenings and weekends.
