The Office of Advancement is a high-performance University Advancement Team that achieves results by inspiring others to provide Dalhousie University with the means to meet or exceed its goals. Reporting to the Alumni Engagement Specialist, the Alumni Officer is responsible for securing and cultivating engagement between Dalhousie University and its alumni. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Play a role in the strategic development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of alumni engagement programs.
  • Research, plan, and integrate existing and emerging communications mediums into programs that will enhance alumni engagement.
  • Provide strategic support to Faculty-based Alumni Officers to ensure complete integration of alumni engagement programs across all faculties, schools, and departments.
  • Provide strategic support to Annual Fund and Development Officers specific to alumni engagement programs, and how those programs can be leveraged to assist attaining fundraising goals; and
  • Act as an advocate and ambassador for Dalhousie University.

Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in Marketing or Public Relations with two to three years of experience in the area of communications, marketing and/or Public Relations, preferably in a post-secondary environment. Previous experience working with digital and social marketing platforms is required. Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously is essential. Superior organizational skills, prior project planning experience, strong communication skills and the ability to provide a high level of customer service is necessary. The successful incumbent will be comfortable with current software programs and working in an online environment.

Salary Range: $44,034 - $59,575 per annum (ADM-04). This is a provisional classification. Formal classification procedures will be initiated by the Compensation & Job Evaluation Unit in approximately six months.
