The Chapman Group is assisting their client, The New Brunswick Association for Supported Services and Employment (NBASSE) in recruiting an Agency Support Manager.
The New Brunswick Association for Supported Services and Employment (NBASSE) is a non-profit association that advocates for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities. We provide a collective voice for our 38 province-wide member agencies to strategize, develop and implement the highest standards of service for people we support.
Our member agencies are part of the Employment and Support Program (ESSP). New Brunswick is updating its program and adopting an "employment first" philosophy. The modernized program builds on collaborative, person-centred and employment first approaches that will support working age people with a disability to work to their fullest potential and be involved in their communities in meaningful ways.
NBASSE is seeking to hire its first Agency Support Manager who will be responsible for developing professional relationships with NBASSE Agencies and provide the necessary support to enable Agencies to adhere to the ESSP Standards.
This position offers a flexible working arrangement, including remote work from home. It also requires travel to various agency locations across New Brunswick.
Language Requirement: Must be fluent in both French and English (written, spoken and reading capabilites)
What you'll do
Responsibilities
· The NBASSE Agency Support Manager is responsible for developing a thorough understanding of the ESSP Standards and providing guidance on Agency Policy & Planning Manuals.
· Ensure that Agencies maintain proper documentation, including employment contracts, confidentiality forms, drivers abstract, criminal record checks, and social development record checks.
· Provide up-to-date information to Program Delivery Managers and relays Agency information to the NBASSE Executive.
· Reporting to Social Development that involves sharing information such as employment statistics, agency challenges, obstacles to finding employment for participants, agency program offerings, funding challenges, temporary training allowances provided by agencies, training needs to meet standards, agency successes, and professional development for staff.
· Plan and organize the Annual General Meeting (AGM), schedules and chairs Agency Executive Director Meetings, and provides information for monthly Association Meetings.
· Manage all aspects of administration and keep website resources up to date for Agencies.
· Supports Agency Boards through Executive Directors, providing job maintenance support programs for participants, informing about employment supports through AvenueNB, and connecting Agencies with community employment partners are also part of their responsibilities.
· Coordinates and offers training opportunities in various areas, including social role valorization, non-violent crisis intervention, person-centered planning, program planning and delivery, pre-employment and employment programming, executive leadership, professional development, board governance training, employment standards, individual employment support programs (IESP), result-based reporting, human resources, report writing, and ESSP standards.
What you'll need
Qualifications
· A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
· The candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role or within the human services field.
· A positive and respectful attitude, the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
· Attention to detail
· The capability to manage others when required.
· Ability to manage stressful situations and timelines are essential.
· Experience with ESSP Standards and working within a not-for profit organization is preferred.
· The ideal candidate has the demonstrated ability to inspire others and has strong problem-solving skills.
· They must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Experience in managing and organizing meetings and events, as well as previous experience in training and development, is an asset.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, technology, and general office equipment.
· This position will require travel to various agency locations. A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are required.
