Reporting to the Director, Advancement Services, and receiving operational direction from the Director of Philanthropy, the Advancement Officer - Prospect Research and Management will work to create avenues of revenue through the identification and qualification of mid to high level prospects and suspects from various groups among the wider Saint Mary's University community, individuals, business leaders, friends, alumni, corporations, and foundations. The position will be responsible for developing and leading a system of central moves management designed to identify, manage, and maximize prospect/supporter involvement, participation and retention in alumni engagement and fundraising activities across the University. The position will be responsible for integrating Banner, CRM Advance, research and third-party vendor information into the Prospect and Relationship Management areas of CRM Advance. The position will develop, access, and report on confidential information (biographic and financial) to the President, Vice Presidents, Development staff and other key stakeholders. The position will play a key role in the lead up and execution of all major giving activity, including all capital and university-wide campaigns priorities, as well as special strategic fundraising projects as they arise.

The Advancement Officer - Prospect Research & Management works out of the Advancement Department and reports to the Director of Advancement.

Group affiliation for this position is with the Administrative, Professional, Confidential (APC) Group. The position is evaluated at a Group 5 (salary range $ 57,127 - $ 73,621). Salary scale or Collective Agreement can be viewed here.

Qualifications

To be the successful Advancement Officer - Prospect Research & Management you will possess an Undergraduate degree with research and analytical/statistical components. A MLIS Degree would be considered an asset. A minimum of three (3) years of directly related work experience. A potential candidate will possess previous experience in a not-for-profit environment would be considered an asset. Advanced research, statistical, computer and analytical skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Relational databases. Banner or CRM Advance experience an asset. Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with diverse groups. Professional manner with a customer service orientation. Exceptional oral and written communication skills with strong attention to details. Self-directed with a high level of initiative and resourcefulness. Ability to organize, manage, prioritize and multi-task a diverse range of projects with high efficiency in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of fundraising practices. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and with discretion.
