Reporting to the Manager, Admissions and Recruitment Services, the Admissions and Recruitment Assistant is responsible for assisting with the efficient operation of the admissions and recruitment functions. This includes providing accurate information about admissions requirements and procedures to prospective students and updates to applicants on the status of their application throughout the admissions process. The primary function is to help receive and process a high volume of student application materials, respond to inquiries and aid in the preparation digital applications for adjudication.

What you'll do

Responsibilities

  • Answers questions regarding: admission criteria and deadlines, academic programs, and general enquiries.
  • Refers prospective students to Recruitment staff for meetings as appropriate. Updates contact records and helps maintain automatic correspondence protocols through a CRM.
  • Assists with the application and admission process, including dissemination of information, receiving application materials and fees, ongoing correspondence with applicants throughout the application process, data entry.
  • Assists with the creation and maintenance of digital records for applicants and students using ezRecruit and leadsquared CRM/application and Elucian Colleague.
  • Assists in the coordination of virtual and in-person events related to admissions and recruitment.
  • Assists with NSCAD Tours, including monitoring the online tour booking system.
  • Reception, responding to inquiries, appointments, screening mail, telephone messages, and faxes.
  • Prepares correspondence, and other materials using word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Provides general office support as needed

What you'll need

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required and at least two (2) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience) is required. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office is required. Experience using the administrative functions of a student information system (Colleague, Banner, Datatel, PeopleSoft, etc.) or similar enterprise database system, and experience in the use of a CRM is preferred. Excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently, meet deadlines and provide information accurately and quickly upon request is required. Experience in a post-secondary setting is preferred.
