The Town of Paradise, one of the fastest growing Municipalities in Newfoundland and Labrador with the potential for significant growth in residential and commercial/industrial development, is seeking an Administrative Assistant.

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Director and department including duties related to the maintenance and composition of confidential correspondence, proofreading materials for accuracy; maintaining manual and electronic files on a variety of related subjects including confidential items; and serving as recording secretary for committees.

This individual must demonstrate: outstanding oral and written communications skills, assertiveness, flexibility, negotiation skills, good judgment, considerable technical proficiency, professionalism, and an excellent work ethic. Due to the nature of the work environment, complete respect for confidentiality, privacy, and handling of sensitive information is essential.

• Completion of an Office Administration diploma along with three years' relevant work experience in an office environment.
• Demonstrated ability to deal with the public with tact and diplomacy;
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
• Detailed knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other office applications
• Or any equivalent combination of experience and training acceptable to the town.

This is a temporary, full-time non-bargaining unit position with an annual salary of $54,668.42 - $68,335.53
