Under the supervision of the Executive Assistant, the Administrative Assistant provides secretarial and administration services to the Office of the President. Maintains documents of a highly confidential nature. Assists the Executive Assistant in ensuring the smooth functioning of the office and works collaboratively with other staff and faculty to ensure the timely, accurate and effective delivery of services. The Administrative Assistant serves as the receptionist and first point of contact for visitors to the Office of the President.

This position is considered a maternity leave contract position beginning in April 2021 with the University and salary range will be $39,000 - $51,000.

Qualifications

To be the successful Administrative Assistant you will have graduated high school and possess a two (2) year community college diploma in secretarial sciences and have a minimum of three (3) years of directly related work experience. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills along with the ability to work in a fast-paced team oriented environment is required. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills both oral and written, knowledge of business writing and professional best practices and demonstrated experience organizing and coordinating meetings and events. The successful candidate must also have the ability to handle and maintain confidential information and professional judgement and discretion. Demonstrated skills using Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) will round out your qualifications as the successful candidate. Assets for this position include University experience and/or some experience in an academic setting and Banner experience.
