Clearwater Seafoods' Finance department requires an Accounts Payable Manager. The position is a Full-time 18 month term position and is located in Bedford, N.S.
Purpose of Position
- The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for supporting the Senior Finance Manager across all AP related functions, focused on timely and accurate transaction processing and month end activities. The manager will actively seek to continually identify and implement processes improvements.
- As Accounts Payable Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the team responsible for the completion of Accounts Payable transactions and processes
- Develop, mentor and coach Accounts Payable Team
- Supporting the Senior Finance Manager in identifying and implementing process improvements in the Procure-to-pay process
- Work closely with Corporate Accounting team to find synergies in transaction processing and supporting the strategic initiatives of the company (AP forecasting/analysis, cash management strategies, tracking shareholder transaction, intercompany settlements etc.)
- Responsible for ensuring appropriate payment processes and procedures are followed
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of invoice processing; reinforce and promote a continuous improvement mindset in the team
- Building and maintaining relationships with employees and vendors
- Review month-end GL to sub-ledger reconciliations prepared by staff
- Co-ordinate and support audit requests related to Accounts Payable
- Investigate and resolve vendor escalations
- Issue and utilize regular reporting on KPI's for department
- Perform other related duties as required

Reporting Structure
- This position reports to the Senior Finance Manager, Corporate Reporting & Transactions
- This position has the following positions reporting to it:
- Accounts Payable team (7 team members including AP Supervisor)
Working Conditions
- Location: Bedford, NS
- Work Environment: Hybrid work environment requiring 3 days in the offer per week
- Travel: 20% travel to locations as required (primarily within Nova Scotia)
Qualifications
- Business degree or diploma or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years supervisory experience
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management
- Knowledge of general accounting principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- SAP user knowledge is an asset
