Acadia seeks an Accounting Clerk in Financial Services. This role will work with the Manager, Research Accounting to support the financial responsibilities for all research grants and projects. In addition, during the start of each term, the position will support activities in Student Accounts. Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Maintain and reconcile the research accounts receivable listing on a monthly basis.
  • Set-up and monitor research accounts - including reviewing expenses, preparing invoices and maintaining documentation and research files.
  • Provide support to researchers - including compliance to grants, financial reporting and inquiries related to specific research projects and grants.
  • Assist Manager, Research Accounting in the preparation of materials for external audits.
  • During the peak periods for Student Accounts (the start of each term):
    • Process daily payment transactions to students' accounts.
    • Balance the daily payment transactions to system reports.
    • Monitor Student Account transactions and reconciling reports to system. 
    • Monitor service requests, process resulting transactions or re-direct to another team members to another staff member.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • We are seeking candidates who have proven experience delivering a high level of customer service and demonstrated ability to think and communicate clearly, resolve issues, and take initiative.
  • Completion of a recognized post-secondary program in Business Administration is required.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, the ability to maintain confidentiality and be flexible to regularly changing priorities is necessary.
  • Applicants must be familiar with MS Office applications and current accounting software; familiarity with Colleague software is an asset.

THE REWARDS: Acadia offers a comprehensive benefit package in addition to a starting salary of $35,494 per annum (SEIU Clerk 2). Salary increases to $39,560 following successful completion of 6-month probation period.
