What you'll do

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Dean, Technology Adoption & Learning Innovation, the Academic Technology Specialist is responsible for providing support, expertise and training around instructional and educational technologies as they relate to the learning environment. Services provided will include working with instructors, students, and support staff on various educational technology projects; evaluate and provide feedback on various educational technologies and their impact and use in the teaching and learning environment.

Qualifications

Individuals interested in this opportunity must possess a two year diploma in a related field, with a minimum of seven (7) years of recent and related experience; OR a university degree in a related field, and a minimum of five (5) years of recent and related experience. Related experience should include advanced skill with D2L Brightspace or other LMS; web-based conferencing tools such as Skype for Business; and teaching or training experience, preferably in a post-secondary or adult learning setting.

Strong written and spoken communications skills in English is required, as well as extensive knowledge of instructional technology (e.g Adobe, Creative Cloud, Interactive Whiteboards, etc) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience working in a related role in a post-secondary environment may be considered an asset.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive salary for this position ranging from $49,374 to $69,056 annually.
