As a 3D Mulitmedia Specialist, you have a passion for developing the design and visual content of eLearning projects. You enjoy working cohesively with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and produce high quality, high impact online courseware.

What you will be doing:

  • Effectively modelling and rendering 3D assets as required including:
    • Complex interior components
    • Hard surfaces
    • Organic models
    • High level of detail
    • Low resolution game assets
  • Unwrapping 3D models and compact UV sets
  • Rigging characters/vehicles and other 3D assets to achieve desired animation in an efficient manner
  • Rendering and composite multiple rendering passes in Photoshop, After Effects and other compositing packages
  • Texturing models based on reference material
  • Editing video and output in multiple formats (FLV, AVI, MP4 etc.)
  • Creating interactive flash/HTML5 animations
  • Providing accurate level of effort estimates for forecasting
  • Participating in strategy and concept development of design elements
  • Working with various internal clients (Subject Matter Experts, Instructional Designers, Business Development) providing ideas and creative support to respective initiatives
  • Developing custom interface layouts
  • Determining the best way to achieve the desired media using existing stock imagery, development of new material, or a combination of both
  • Consulting with clients to establish the overall look and feel of graphical elements
  • Reading, comprehending, and executing media requests
  • Determining size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy
  • Following project standards to ensure all media assets meet established guidelines
  • Adhering to proper project workflow as outlined by the Bluedrop QMS

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Diploma or certificate in 3D animation or graphic design would be considered an asset
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in multimedia design field
  • Proficiency in 3D development processes and tools:
  • Modelling in 3D Studio Max including:
    • Machinery
    • Heavy equipment
    • Systems with complicated internal components
    • Control panels
  • Optimizing models for use in game engines (Unity)
  • Working from provided guidelines and standards
  • Exceptional organizational skills with an ability to handle multiple initiatives, projects, and deadlines
  • Familiarity with the Adobe CC Suite, specifically: Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate/Flash, After Effects and Premiere
  • Must be able to obtain a Government of Canada security clearance.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in any of the following, while not necessary for the role but would be considered an asset:
    • Unity 3D
    • VBS2
    • Flash ActionScript (2, 3)
    • Javascript
    • Articulate Storyline
    • User Experience/UX Design
    • HTML5/CS
  • Ability to learn new industry techniques and software packages and integrate new workflows in a fast-paced environment
