Responsibilities
What you will be doing…
- Reporting to the Academic Chair, and under the direct supervision of the Wind Turbine Technician Faculty, you will provide field site, shop, program and administrative support for the Wind Turbine Technician program and GWO certification training.
- You will provide shop and field-site(s) readiness by having equipment prepared, inspections completed, and inventory system up to date.
- Additionally, you will assist with field-site(s)/shop demonstrations; provide administrative preparation for the field-site(s)/shop and assist with training exercises.
- You will also assist in classroom and lab/shop demonstrations and prepare projects and mock-ups in advance of training. You will assist Faculty with the safe operation of tools and equipment and safe work practices as well as support faculty and students as required during training exercises.
- You will be responsible for tracking and maintaining inventory, training records, equipment inspections, hazard assessments and other program related documentation.

Qualifications
Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
- The minimum educational qualification for these resources is a relevant post-secondary diploma or certification Ifor industrial electrical systems and controls and/or industrial mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- You have a minimum of five years (full time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in working with these skills sets in an industrial environment.
- In addition, you possess training in WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety regulations as well as Standard First Aid, CPR and discipline relevant safety training or you have a willingness to obtain within the first year.
- You possess or are willing to obtain certified fall arrest training, the ability to work at heights and obtaining GWO certifications will be a requirement of employment.
- You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, E-maill or basic file management software.
- You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work.
- Experience in administrative and record keeping skills are considered an asset
- Experience supporting/providing services to students and prospective students would be considered an asset.

- You can carry 20kg of equipment to site locations in a variety of weather conditions.
